The method evaluation of the Ecological Footprint (EF), consists in measuring the biocapacity to provide ecosystem goods and services (Elias Lazarus et al, 2015).

Thus, an analysis can be made between the total demand for ecosystem goods and services and the capacity to supply them in a certain period of time. As a unit of measure the ecological footprint can be measured in the available global area or in hectares (Elias Lazarus et al, 2015).
